Standard Times

I’ve been writing this blog since 2011, and have greatly enjoyed doing it. I hope you’ve found at least some of these blogs interesting and helpful. Pressure of work forces me to bring it to an end with this final submission. In recent months I’ve been publishing my standard times for the tracks that race under the Greyhound Board of Great Britain rulebook. Below are standard times for five tracks not yet covered. I have omitted grades that are rarely or infrequently used.

It takes a considerable time to collect and collate the data for standard times, which can be accessed on the GBGB website. I would suggest that anyone who finds standard times useful might want to keep the times up to date. It involves noting from the results section of the website the last 50 winning times for each grade that you’re interested in, and calculating the average of those times. It’s time-consuming work, but worth it; I never have a bet without checking the standard time for the grade.
